Sunday Mornings in Gloryland

On Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30, Gloryland is a great place to be for 2 year olds - 5th graders. Children must be 2 years old to attend Gloryland but can join the program anytime after their 2nd birthday!
The preschool classes use Group's "FaithWeaver" curriculum. Created to be biblically sound, educationally effective, and engaging for every person, "FaithWeaver" will help weave faith into the lives of children and families. The preschool classes are divided into three groups: 2 year olds; 3 and 4 year olds; and pre-kindergarten. Parents are encouraged to bring their children upstairs before the worship service begins and to pick them up immediately after the service.
Our elementary aged children use Willow Creek's "Promiseland" curriculum. This curriculum uses skits, props, and videos as well as traditional story telling to teach the lesson each week. One or two teachers present the lesson during the large group teaching time. Then small group leaders discuss the lesson with the children during a small group "shepherding" time. There are questions, games, and discussions that bring the Bible lesson and the point home to the kids, making it relevant for them in their everyday lives, and encouraging them to be the Heart, Hands, and Voice of Christ.
The elementary children begin worship each Sunday with their families in the sanctuary. After the children's sermon they are dismissed to their classes. The children are divided into three classes: Kindergarten/1st grade; 2nd/3rd grade; and 4th/5th grade. Parents may pick up their younger children immediately after the worship service.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you are an older teen or an adult who loves sharing God's love and loves working with our youngest disciples then we have a place for you in Gloryland! You could serve as:
- Part of a team of preschool teachers;
- A snack helper who prepares snacks for the preschool children;
- A "Large group" teacher who presents the lesson for an elementary class;
- A "small group" leader who discusses the lesson with a group of elementary-aged children;
- A props coordinator who prepares props needed for each Sunday's lesson;
- A decorator who prepares the classrooms for the new year as well as special occasions;
Teen Drama Team: Our Large Group teachers are often assisted by the Teen Drama Team. Members act in skits during the Gloryland lessons and meet monthly to discuss and sign up for parts. Both middle and high schoolers are welcome!
